Google announced the new feature — called Play as You Download — coming to Android 12 this fall during Monday's Google For Games Developers Summit, according to a blog post published on the Android Developers blog.
"Play While Downloading, built into the core of Android 12, enables users to get into the game in seconds while game assets download in the background," said Greg Hartrell, director of product management for Google Play and Android, in the blog post.
"We're seeing games ready to open at least twice as fast, and we're very excited about the improved user experience."
