Google shared details about the upcoming update to the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th generation) in a preview call with Lifewire. The new Nest Learning Thermostat is getting its first update in about 9 years, according to the company. It includes a new domed crystal display that is 60 percent larger than previous generations.
The display is also equipped with Dynamic Farsight, which detects when you are nearby and lights up the display. Now you can even customize what you will see on the screen with information such as time, temperature, weather or outdoor air quality.
Google's Gemini is also built into the Nest Learning Thermostat and can help you create a new smart schedule by automatically adjusting the temperature based on how you use the device over time. You will also receive notifications if Gemini thinks a change to your schedule is warranted, which you can choose to accept or decline.
