Apple hasn't said anything publicly about macOS 16 yet. It makes sense: macOS 15, which will debut in 2024, has not been announced as of this writing. Still, if we look at the past, we can get a sense of the macOS 16 release date. The last four new macOS versions were released on these dates:
Given these dates, expect macOS 16 to be released in September or October 2025.
Before that, it will be publicly unveiled at the 2025 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Expect a public beta version of macOS 16 to be available in the summer of 2025 until the macOS 16 release date.
