We don't really need to add another smartphone to the list, but in this case, the phone that OnePlus announced on Wednesday is much more about style and design than necessity.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition foldable smartphone went on sale in the US starting Wednesday, according to a press release sent to Lifewire. The Apex Edition features a brand new color that is "a special tribute to the Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition." That makes the color options for the Open Apex a Crimson Shadow (red), Emerald Dusk (green) or Voyager Black.
However, the more important part of the new release is the upgrade to storage and the AI image editing features included. The Open Apex will have 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of storage. This comes with the dual ProXDR screens, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, 67W flash charging and 4th generation Hasselblad camera.
You can edit the photos you take with the Hasselblad camera using AI Smart Cutout, which lets you lasso objects to create custom stickers and edit your photos. Improved subject recognition allows you to identify and isolate people (one or more) for easier editing.
