OnePlus admitted to deliberately reducing the performance of popular apps to improve the battery life of its phones.

Fix – OnePlus 11 battery draining too fast!
First discovered by Anandtech, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro phones slowly discovered 300 apps considered popular on the Google Play Store, such as Google Chrome, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Discord, and Twitter. The site found a "slowdown in typical workloads like web browsing."
Anandtech said its testing showed that apps like Chrome and Twitter were three to four times slower when it came to loading and browsing times.
The company confirmed on Wednesday to XDA Developers that this occurred, adding that it did so to save battery life on phones.
