TeamViewer has a couple of different downloads that you can use to access a remote computer, but both work pretty much the same. You would choose one over the other based on your needs.
Each installation will provide a unique ID number associated with that computer. It is never supposed to change, even if you update or reinstall TeamViewer. It is this ID number that you will share with another user so that they can access your computer.
The full version of TeamViewer is completely free and is the program you need to install if you want to set up a computer for constant remote access so that you can always make a connection when you are away from it, also known as unattended access.
