I spend way too much time every day on my expensive Macbook, but I've realized that all I really need is a Chromebook. Samsung's new Chromebook 2, available now for pre-order, looks like the perfect mix of features at a reasonable price.

Samsung's New Chromebook Review | Ars Technica
All the apps I use are available on Chrome, and it's a much smoother experience than other operating systems. Like most people, the majority of what I do on a PC is word processing, email and the occasional movie stream. You don't need a $2,000 laptop to do any of these things.
The problem is that most Chromebooks are either cheaply made or too expensive. There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as Google's own highly rated Pixelbook Go range which starts at $649.
Samsung beats Google on price, with Chromebooks starting at a reasonable $549. At this price tag, I don't have to worry too much about the Chromebook 2 breaking or becoming obsolete within a few years.
