Is it really worth it to upgrade your car speakers?

The main argument against replacing speakers is cost, but installing direct aftermarket replacement speakers can be a great way to boost your sound quality without breaking the bank. Although it can be expensive, you will get an improvement in sound quality if you upgrade to component speakers.

If you're looking at an overall upgrade to your car stereo system, your factory speakers should be one of the first components to hit the notch. Your original speakers are unlikely to be up to the task of working with a top-of-the-range head unit and amplifier, so if you leave them in place, your dream system will end up dead.

In that case, you may want to stay away from direct replacement speakers. If you want to get the most out of your new custom car stereo, the best thing to do is to replace the factory speakers with high quality component speakers – and throw in at least one subwoofer.
